The correct choice of drill bit is the key to improve drilling efficiency and reduce costs. Through sorting the use of drill bits previously，together with analyzing and comparing commonly-used bit selection methods，which including rock drillability method，time factor analysis method，economic benefit index method and gray clustering method，the selection of S75 wire-line core-drilling diamond bits in south of Zhuguang area was focused and thus a conclusion to the bit selection methods applicable to practical drilling and production in this area was achieved . Two drill holes were selected on site to test the drill bit optimization method，and the reliability of the drill bit optimization method was verified by the test results.
